Hancock County Children’s Choir opens auditions for winter/spring

The Arts Partnership is now accepting audition registrations for the winter/spring session of the Hancock County Children’s Choir.  The Hancock County Children’s Choir is a community-based treble voice children’s chorus. It is open to all 2-5 grade children in the Greater Hancock County area. Any child with an unchanged voice in grades 2 through 5 who can commit to the rehearsal times 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday evenings, February through May, is welcome to audition for the choir. The first rehearsal begins February 6.

 Auditions for new members will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Monday, January 30 at St. Michael Church (750 Bright Road). Those auditioning will need to sign up for a 15- minute audition slot.  To sign up for an audition, please visit this page and sign up through the online form.

The program’s mission is to provide an educational experience for area children who wish to explore singing in a group at an age when choral experiences is limited in the schools. The Choir stands as an opportunity for students to develop relationships with others with similar interests and gain a greater understanding of how to use their voices in an ensemble. The Choir is directed by Celia Stockton and Bev Roby is the accompanist.

Tuition for new members of the Hancock County Children’s Choir for the semester is $120 per student.  This includes all rehearsals, supplies, polo shirt and performances. Tuition assistance and payment plans are available.

Returning members do not need to re-audition but must contact Craig VanRenterghem, education director, at with their commitment. Tuition for returning members is $100 for the semester.
