Meet the 2016-2017 School Day Performances

The Arts Partnership presents the 2016-2017 School Day Performances Series with seven shows, 13 performances. School Day Performances offer a variety of age-appropriate arts experiences for students at an affordable price. The shows are:

  • Lightwire Theater’s The Ugly Duckling on October 18: Known for its electroluminescent puppetry, Lightwire Theater brings the classic tale The Ugly Duckling to the modern stage in an unforgettable experience. Ideal for grades K-4.
  • We the People on October 27: We the People will instill American pride in students through a variety of musical styles relevant to today’s youth. Ideal for grades 4-8.
  • Peter Rabbit Tales on November 1: Commemorate the 150th birthday of author Beatrix Potter with tales of Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor. Ideal for grades K-4.
  • The Nutcracker on December 16 (10 a.m. only): Celebrate the holiday season with an update to the Christmas Classic; The Nutcracker, set in 1940s Findlay. Ideal for all ages.
  • Pete the Cat on January 19 (Limited seats remain): For this groovy blue cat, life is an adventure no matter where you wind up. When Jimmy Biddle is stumped on his art project, they set out to help him conquer second grade art. Ideal for grades K-2
  • Lightning Thief on February 10: Percy is the prime suspect for Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt but to uncover the true thief, he uncovers much more in the process. Ideal for grades 2-6
  • Cat in the Hat on March 30: Seuss’ classic story follows Sally and her brother when the Cat and his antics transform a rainy afternoon. Ideal for Pre K-6.

Performances are at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and are held at Marathon Center for the Performing Arts (MCPA).  All seats are $5.00.
