School Day Performances Information

School Day Performance Procedures

The School Day Performance series offers an exciting extension of your classroom work.  These performances are not only fun, but most are aligned with the Ohio Academic Standards to assist with your educational objectives in literacy, government, and history.  Many performances also help to address issue-based topics such as human rights, cultural diversity, self-esteem, and overcoming adversity, as well as introducing students to a variety of performing arts disciplines.

Seat Reservations

$5 for each seat (be sure to include accompanying adults in your seat count).  Teachers or individuals can reserve seating on our website (www.artspartnership.com/school-day-performances/), or by coming into The Arts Partnership office (618 S. Main St.) during business hours.  Reservations will NOT be taken over the phone.  Registration opens on August 7, 2017.  You will not receive a ticket for your seat.  Volunteers will have a list of reserved seats, and will help you find your section.

 Confirmation & Invoices

Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive an automatically-generated confirmation email with your payment invoice attached.  You will also receive a reminder confirmation via email 2 weeks before the performance.

Payments

Payments must be received prior to 2 weeks before the performance.  Your reservation may be dismissed if payment is not received by this timeline.  Payments will not be accepted the day of the performance. 

**  The Arts Partnership will email you information if grants are available through the Ohio Arts Council to help offset the cost of bussing.

Study Guides

Many performance companies provide a study guide for the show they are presenting.  The guides usually have activities that tie academic standards to the show.  The Arts Partnership will email you a study guide a month before the show if it is provided by the performance company.

 Unloading/Loading & Parking

Busses should use the Main Cross St entrance.  Pull up along the sidewalk to unload students.  Once students are unloaded, the bus can then park.  Busses will park in the South lot (lot closest to Main Cross St.). Busses and bus drivers must remain on site between unloading and loading the students.  All cars and vans must enter from S. West St.  Cars and vans will park in the North lot (lot closest to Front St.).  Schools and individuals are verbally dismissed to cut down on congestion in the hall, and to have a safe and orderly loading of the busses.  For safety purposes, busses cannot leave the parking lot until all students have been loaded.  Thank you for your patience.  Volunteers will be outside to help give direction.

Arrival

Plan to arrive early.  Doors to the theatre open a half hour before the start of the show.  Many groups arrive at the same time, and it can take a while to get everyone into their seats.  We must start the show on time.

 Seating

The Marathon Center for the Performing Arts seats 960 people, and we often sell out performances.  The Arts Partnership creates a seating chart to ensure that each group can fit.  Many factors are considered when making a seating chart, so it is important for you to be flexible.  We do not seat on a first come, first served basis. Volunteers will help your group find their assigned seats.

Special Needs

We will do everything in our power to meet the special needs of your students.  The Marathon Center for the Performing Arts is wheelchair accessible with an elevator and several seating spaces for students in wheelchairs.  The theatre also has audio assisted listening devices which can be requested.  Interpreters accompanying your hearing impaired students must be included in your seat count.  The Arts Partnership does not provide an interpreter, however, we may be able to provide a script if requested beforehand.  Any special needs must be indicated on the reservation form, so that we can adequately prepare and assign seating.

Cancellation

If schools are cancelled or delayed, we will continue with the shows as scheduled.  Any schedule changes due to weather must be communicated immediately to The Arts Partnership by emailing .  Any messages received after 9am the day of a performance may not be received until the next day.  If you are unable to attend your reserved performance, efforts will be made to accommodate your group for a later showing that day or a show on a future date if possible.    No refunds.

Seat Count Adjustments

We understand that students move in and out of your classroom throughout the year.  You can change your seat count up to 2 weeks before the performance by contacting The Arts Partnership at event@artspartnership.com.  We do not guarantee that we can accommodate these changes, but will be as flexible as the space allows.
